Here's a phrase I learnt yesterday for the first time. I kind of like it. It's all about payback and just desserts:
付けが回ってくる
付け means bill or check so the literal meaning is that the bill comes back around but more figuratively it means someone will eventually have to pay for their wrongdoing. For example:
彼は怠けていた付けが回ってきた。
kare ha namaketeita tsuke ga mawatte kita
Now he is paying for his laziness.
